It's Summer! We decided to start in our hometown of San Diego and get social! We went out and visited one of our favorite bars Fairweather & Rare Form. If you've never had a chance to visit these two establishments you should definitely put them on your list. Across from Petco Park is Rare Form, a fine restaurant and delicatessen serving food and drinks, and upstairs is Fairweather, the tiki bar sibling. Brian Eastman and his crew were kind enough to take time out of their schedule and have a drink with us, and let us shoot some photos. They were also kind enough to share their Mai Tai Recipe with us, and we wanted to spread the love to you.
Fairweather Mai Tai Recipe
- .75oz Lime
- .25oz Orgeat (Could be store bought, our recipe below.)
- .5oz Curacao (We blend in house, mixing a Curacao such as Cointreau with Agave Nectar. Cointreau will surely do the trick on its own but its hard to beat the richness of adding the agave)
- 2oz FW Aged Rum (We recommend an aged rum, around 7 years but in a pinch any non-spiced aged rum would do.
Preparation: Build in glass, top with pebble or crushed ice.
Garnish: Mint Sprig, Pineapple Wedge, Orchid
